Gipsy - Cardboard City - 15 photos

Belgrade, Serbia, 2001
"Cardboard City" is a name for outskrit of Belgrade where Roma (Gipsy) people live. Their main occupation is collecting old paper and cardboard for recycling. Living conditions in the "Cardboard City" are completely non-hygienic and inhuman. Houses are made out of cardboard, sheet-metal and other materials not suitable for house building. There is no running or drinking water and no city canalization system.
